Was a lot of fun to shoot and I hope to make this an ongoing project that’ll go beyond my final for this class. If any of you or have a friend who collects a LOT of something let me know! I’d love to add it to my collection of people and their collections.
SHOESPLOSION!
The final piece of my project, shooting my friend Lester and his collection of sneakers. Getting the hang of shooting collections of stuff, mainly because I know what exact shots I’m going for. Thanks to Dave and Abe for assisting and mucho thanks to Lester for allowing me to photograph his many pairs of sneakers!
TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!
So today I photographed Gabe, a friend of a friend, and most of his collection of Transformers. Final count of those on display and not in box amount to 210ish (we didn’t move ALL that were on display) and there are still many more still in their original packaging. There were some gestalt types too (ones where 5 combine into one huge one) and various multi-parters. If we were to include the boxed along with separating the combined ones it would bring the number much, much higher.
Starting to get a hang of photographing large groups of things, spent 4 hours on the whole shoot. Much of the time though was dragged through transporting or arranging the collection. Glad to have Michael though as an assistant.
In the future, I would like to photograph the collection as a whole. For now, time constraints limited me to just stick to the necessary shots.
The decisive moment, it is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event
its proper expression.
One last one. ‘cause posting two made my OCD kick in. Plus also, I realized I had a lot of “hands on head” shots.
Another one I liked from my set this past weekend. Keepin’ it light.
From a random shoot this past weekend. Its been awhile since I’ve shot purely with natural light, I’m always so stuck on having to use my strobes or some sort of flash. I’ve gotta get back to mixing the two and not completely ignoring the effect natural light can bring.
Thanks to Rich and Becca for just wandering around convoy and taking pictures. So much to learn still…
